Its early but the cut is goon on cans yet the blade seems not-so-sharp. We'll see over time how long it lasts. It's only a back-up as I use an electric on regular bases-But, always be 'for-warned' of power outages & possible malfunction of the unit! So, carry a 'Back-up!'

Does the job...
As described. Excellent OXO quality. However, I realized I should have ordered the model with the lid magnet. I also found both for lower prices. ($14 vs. $17) Otherwise, it was just as described and locks easily, allowing smooth, easy performance.

Unlatch improvement
I would like it more if when done the latch opens, as I got done opening a can I wanted to open the latch which potentially put my fingers near the edge of the sharp lid. The latch is an asset to the opener, but when opening-up multiple cans I don't want to think too much.
